What has more Authority than education-based marketing?
Absolutely NOTHING!
Sales is all about building rapport, creating relationships, and becoming a mutual partner in the buyer’s world. When people feel they are being “sold” they automatically resist. When people feel they are being educated they have no resistance, particularly if the information is good and it applies to their situation.
Let’s look at some ways education-based selling can improve your bottom line:
It’s easier to get an appointment if you aren’t “selling” something.
When you open a conversation with useful information that the customer may not have known it clears the path to their listening to what you have to say.
When you can provide good information/education you become trustworthy.
Providing education gets you into the doors where even the non-buyers dwell.
A carefully prepared educational presentation tends to draw more interest and keep the audience engaged.
Educating on the points that have previously been unexplained or poorly explained to an audience clears their thinking about your service or product.
If someone gives you something of value, you want to give back. Give value in education and the customer will want to give back by purchasing your product or service.
The sales professional who can educate will lead in sales because more people will listen to you.
